Media and speaking

I have recently been offering talks about conservation ethics (should we save the honeybee or the hairworm?) and about bees and neonicotinoid pesticides. Please get in touch if you are interested (I’m based near London but am happy to travel). Next up, I’ll be speaking at Nottingham Skeptics in the Pub on 8th January 2018.

My speaking appearances so far range from the local natural history society to a secondary school in South Korea. You can watch my TEDx talk ‘Please Mend the Gap’ about the unhealthy divide between science and the arts, and hear my podcasts on SoundCloud.

Butterflies, ants, bees and spiders have been the themes of my TV and radio appearances, which include BBC Breakfast, BBC Newsround, Sky News, the Great Butterfly Adventure, David Attenborough’s Conquest of the Skies, BBC Weather, BBC Radio 4 Today, Virgin Radio and many local radio stations.

I am always happy to receive media/speaking requests, about conservation, insects, genetic modification, or careers in science and science communication.
